The ConnectPrep take
Georgetown runs its own kind of process. It has its own Georgetown Application as an alternative to the Common App, it requires applicants to choose one of its undergraduate schools, and it calls alumni interviews a key part of the process. Early Action on Nov 1 is nonbinding, but EA applicants may not apply to any binding Early Decision program elsewhere, so it is a real trade-off. The admit rate is 13.5% on 26,822 applicants. The SAT or ACT is required and AP scores are highly recommended. With a middle 50% SAT of 1405 to 1530, aim for 1530 and retake if your student sits near the bottom of that range. The mistake we see is applying late; interviews are assigned after the first part of the application is submitted, so early filers get interviewed.
