Rooted in the communities we serve — local families can find us through area business networks including the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce, Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Darien Chamber of Commerce and New Canaan Chamber of Commerce.
We work with the county’s school calendars every day — AP weeks, FCIAC athletic seasons, midterm schedules — and build prep plans around them. Our students attend, among others:
Connecticut administers the SAT to every public-school junior on SAT School Day, so virtually all Fairfield County students have a baseline score by spring of junior year. School-day means include every tester — not just college-bound students — which is why published averages (Staples’ Class of 2025 mean was 1239) sit well below what competitive applicants from these schools actually submit. Independent schools like Greens Farms Academy report averages around 1400, and for the Ivy-and-peer-tier colleges many county families target, the realistic bar is 1500+.
| Score Range | Context | Typical Target Schools |
|---|---|---|
| 1500+ | 99th percentile | Ivy League and peer-tier universities |
| 1400–1490 | Top independent-school range | Top-25 universities, strong merit candidates |
| 1300–1390 | Above county school-day means | Top-50 universities |
| 1230–1290 | Around the all-tester school-day mean | Broad match range |
That gap — between a school-day baseline and a competitive application score — is exactly the 100–500 point improvement range ConnectPrep programs are built to close. See how our SAT program works →

Yes. In-home tutoring is our standard format throughout Fairfield County — including Westport, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Fairfield, and Stamford. Families near Westport can also meet at our office, and any session can move online when schedules get tight.
Our students come from virtually every high school in the county: Staples, Greenwich High, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Ridgefield, and both Fairfield high schools on the public side, plus Greens Farms Academy, Brunswick, Greenwich Academy, Sacred Heart, King, and St. Luke’s among independents. We plan around each school’s specific AP calendar and athletic seasons.
Programs are customized, so pricing depends on subject, frequency, and whether you bundle test prep with admissions counseling — bundled programs often cost less than hiring a tutor and an independent counselor separately. The first step is a free 30-minute consultation with founder Jeremy Fine, who will recommend an honest scope before any commitment.
The strongest setup is October of sophomore year, building toward the March SAT of junior year with full runway to adjust. The most common entry point is the summer before junior year, targeting the August or October test. Connecticut’s SAT School Day in spring of junior year gives every student a free official sitting — we plan programs so students peak before or at that date.
Yes — that combination is our core model. ConnectPrep bundles full-service admissions counseling (school list, essays, activities strategy, interviews) with test prep, so your student’s score target is calibrated to their actual college list from day one rather than an arbitrary number.
Yes. We offer dedicated executive function and special education coaching, and our test prep tutors regularly work with extended-time and other College Board accommodations. We can also advise on the accommodations application process itself.
Yes. We prep students for the ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, and TACHS, and pair testing with day- and boarding-school admissions advising — a frequent need for Fairfield County families applying to schools like GFA, Brunswick, Hopkins, and New England boarding schools.
That’s normal here. Tutors hold a consistent weekly slot but can flex between in-home and online formats, and we rebuild pacing every two weeks based on practice-test data — so a missed week during FCIAC playoffs or AP season doesn’t derail the program.
Talk with ConnectPrep founder Jeremy Fine about your student’s goals, schools, and timeline. We’ll recommend an honest path forward — whether that includes ConnectPrep or not.
