Common Questions

Service Area FAQs

Where does ConnectPrep offer in-person tutoring?
In-person 1:1 tutoring is centered on Fairfield County, CT (our home market) and Westchester County, NY, with premium availability in New York City, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey. We also have dedicated hubs for the Philadelphia Main Line, Washington DC Metro, and Chicago North Shore, plus other major metros subject to instructor availability. Everywhere else, we deliver the identical program live online.
Do tutors come to our home?
Yes. In-home tutoring is our standard format throughout the tri-state area. Families near Westport can also meet at our office, and any session can move online when schedules get tight.
Does ConnectPrep really serve all 50 states?
Yes. Through live 1:1 online sessions we work with students in all 50 states — the same tutors, curriculum, and results as in person. Don’t see your city listed? Book a free consult and we’ll make it work.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person?
Yes. Online sessions use live 1:1 video, a shared digital whiteboard and document workspace, and full-length Bluebook-aligned practice tests. The same tutors teach online and in person — there is no separate online-only tier — and outcomes are consistent across both formats.
What services are available in my area?
Every market gets ConnectPrep’s full curriculum: Digital SAT & ACT prep, K–12 subject tutoring, AP support, private/boarding school admissions (ISEE/SSAT/SHSAT), graduate test prep (GRE/GMAT/LSAT/MCAT), and full-service college admissions counseling.
What test prep do you offer?
Digital SAT, ACT, PSAT/PreACT, AP exams, ISEE/SSAT/SHSAT/TACHS for private and boarding school, and graduate exams (GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, JD-Next). Most programs target 100–500 point SAT gains and 1500+/34+ for elite applicants.
Do you offer both test prep and college admissions counseling?
Yes — and bundling them is our core model. Your score target is calibrated to your actual college list from day one, and one team manages both. Families who would otherwise hire a separate tutor and counselor often pay less for the integrated program.
How do I find out if a tutor is available near me?
Book a free 30-minute consultation with founder Jeremy Fine at (914) 288-5718. We’ll confirm in-person availability in your area or set up the online program.
How much does ConnectPrep cost?
Programs are customized to each student’s subject, goals, frequency, and timeline, so we recommend the right scope after a free consultation rather than quoting a one-size number. Bundling test prep with admissions counseling typically costs less than hiring a separate tutor and counselor.
Does ConnectPrep run group classes?
No. Every session is 1:1 with a hand-selected tutor — never group classes.
Which schools do ConnectPrep students attend?
Across our markets, students attend top public schools (Staples, Greenwich, Scarsdale, New Trier, Whitman) and leading independents (Greens Farms Academy, Brunswick, Horace Mann, Sidwell, Pingry), among many others. Each local hub lists the specific schools we serve.
Can we meet at the Westport office?
Yes. Families near Westport often prefer our home-base office; everyone else can choose in-home sessions or live online.
When should my student start?
The strongest setup is October of sophomore year for testing, building toward the March SAT junior year; the most common entry point is the summer before junior year. For admissions counseling, 9th–11th grade is ideal — but we support students at every stage, including seniors mid-application.
Do you work with students who have ADHD, IEPs, or 504 plans?
Yes. We offer dedicated executive function and special education coaching, regularly work with extended-time and other College Board accommodations, and can advise on the accommodations application process.
Do you prepare students for private and boarding school admissions?
Yes. We prep students for the ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, and TACHS and pair testing with day- and boarding-school admissions advising.
How are ConnectPrep tutors selected?
Founder Jeremy Fine hand-selects every tutor and counselor. Our educators average 12+ years of experience and include former admissions officers and subject specialists who score in the 97th–99th percentile on the tests they teach.
Can the same tutor help across subjects and years?
Yes. Many families stay with ConnectPrep for years — from middle-school subject support to SAT prep to college applications — often with the same tutor and always with one coordinated team.
How do we get started?
Book a free 30-minute consultation with founder Jeremy Fine at (914) 288-5718 or via our contact page. We’ll review your student’s goals, confirm availability in your area, and outline an honest path forward.
