What is a BS/MD program?
BS/MD programs (also called combined degree, accelerated medical or guaranteed admission programs) let high school seniors earn conditional acceptance to medical school at the same time they enroll as undergraduates. Most run 7 or 8 years in total, and several waive the MCAT entirely.
Getting in is only half of it. Each program sets its own conditions for keeping the medical school seat, such as a minimum GPA or MCAT score, and some add requirements like Casper or clinical hours. Open Full requirements on any program to see everything in one place.
Deadline alert: Penn State and Sidney Kimmel’s Accelerated Premedical Medical Program closes October 13, 2026, and SAT or ACT scores must arrive by then. Most other programs close November 1 to 15. Check SAT and ACT test dates to plan your last sitting.

Which BS/MD programs require Casper?
Drexel’s BA/BS+MD Early Assurance Program requires Casper for every applicant invited to interview. Hofstra’s 4+4 program listed Casper in an earlier official brochure but not on its current program page, so applicants should confirm with Hofstra. None of the other 12 programs in this database list Casper, Duet, Snapshot or AAMC PREview on their official pages.
Which BS/MD programs do not require the MCAT?
Brown PLME, Rochester REMS, UMKC’s six year BA/MD, the RPI and Albany Medical College Physician Scientist Program, and CUNY’s Sophie Davis program do not require students to take the MCAT to move into medical school.
Which BS/MD programs are test optional?
Case Western PPSP, Rochester REMS and UConn’s Special Program in Medicine are test optional. The other programs in this database require the SAT or ACT, and several set a minimum, such as SAT 1490 or ACT 33 at NJIT and SAT 1470 or ACT 32 at Penn State. CUNY has not yet posted its fall 2027 testing policy.
What is the earliest BS/MD application deadline for fall 2027?
Penn State and Sidney Kimmel Medical College’s Accelerated Premedical Medical Program closes October 13, 2026, with test scores due by the same date. Most other programs close between November 1 and November 15, 2026.
Does Boston University still have a BS/MD program?
No. Boston University’s Seven Year Liberal Arts/Medical Education program no longer accepts applications. BU students can still apply to MMEDIC, an early assurance program, in the spring of their second year.
Which BS/MD programs accept international students?
Official pages list international students as eligible for Brown PLME, VCU’s Guaranteed Admission Program, UConn’s Special Program in Medicine and Penn State’s Accelerated Premedical Medical Program. George Washington also accepts Canadian citizens. Most other programs require US citizenship or permanent residency.

Discontinued programs are excluded, including Boston University’s Seven Year Liberal Arts/Medical Education program (no longer accepting applications), Northwestern HPME and Rice/Baylor Medical Scholars.
