The ConnectPrep take
UConn is a place where the early round does not change the math. In its 2025-2026 Common Data Set, 46.6% of 1,442 Early Decision applicants were admitted, compared with 54.4% overall, about 0.86 times the overall rate. ED makes sense only if UConn is your student's clear first choice, not as an admissions boost. The school is test optional for the foreseeable future, and 35% of enrolled students sent the SAT; with a middle 50% of 1260 to 1420, we advise 1340 or higher and a goal of 1420. Families should also know the waitlist is long: 4,365 students were offered a spot and 85 were admitted from it. The mistake we see most is waiting for the Jan 15 deadline, when Dec 1 is the priority date for merit scholarships and the Honors Program.
