The ConnectPrep take
Miami's review is holistic and contextual: it weighs each applicant's achievements and challenges against their background, school and experiences, and it names softer elements such as unique talents and community contributions. With 54,218 applicants and a 22.1% admit rate, the early rounds carry the class. In fall 2025, 39 percent of the entering class enrolled through Early Decision and 38 percent through Early Action. ED I and EA both close Nov 1, with ED II and Regular Decision on Jan 5. Miami requires the SAT or ACT, though self-reported scores are accepted and some arts, architecture and international applicants are exempt. With a middle 50% SAT of 1350 to 1480, aim for 1415 or higher and push toward 1480. The costliest mistake is applying ED II or RD and losing eligibility for Premier Scholarships.

Yes, for most applicants, and self-reported scores are accepted. Performance-based Frost School of Music programs, BFA programs in Arts and Sciences, the School of Architecture, and students graduating from high schools outside the United States may apply with or without scores. The middle 50% SAT is 1350 to 1480 and the ACT is 28 to 33.

Applying by Nov 1 through ED I or EA is also the only way to be considered for Premier Scholarships, so we encourage early application for almost every serious candidate.
