Why 1:1 TOEFL coaching

Your English is strong. The test is a different skill.

The TOEFL rewards specific habits: reading for structure, taking notes that hold up under pressure, and answering in a clear, timed format. Group classes teach the average student. We diagnose exactly where your points are lost and coach you on those tasks, one section at a time.

Who we work with

  • International students applying to US undergraduate programs
  • Graduate, MBA and professional school applicants with TOEFL requirements
  • Students who are close to a cutoff on one section and need it raised
  • Applicants retaking after a first score fell short of a program requirement

Targets from your list

We confirm each program’s current published requirement, on either scale, and set section targets from it.

Speaking and Writing feedback

Recorded responses and timed writing, reviewed by your coach with specific fixes after every session.

Built around your timeline

Sessions scheduled across time zones, paced to your test date and application deadlines.

The 2026 format

Four sections. What we coach in each.

The updated TOEFL iBT launched January 21, 2026. Here is every section, its new task types, and how we prepare you for them.

Multistage adaptive

Reading

  • Complete the Words
  • Read in Daily Life
  • Read an Academic Passage

We build vocabulary in context, fast reading for main idea and detail, and a pacing plan for the adaptive second stage.

Multistage adaptive

Listening

  • Listen and Choose a Response
  • Listen to a Conversation
  • Listen to an Announcement
  • Listen to an Academic Talk

We train note-taking that captures structure, not every word, and the inference questions that separate a 4.5 from a 5.5.

Three new tasks

Writing

  • Build a Sentence
  • Write an Email
  • Write for an Academic Discussion

We drill grammar under time, tone for the email task, and a repeatable structure for the academic discussion response.

Two new tasks

Speaking

  • Listen and Repeat
  • Take an Interview

We work on pronunciation, fluency and clear 45 second answers, with recorded practice and specific feedback after every session.

How it works

From diagnostic to test day.

Diagnostic

A full practice test in the new format shows where every point is being lost, section by section.

Your plan

We map section targets to your programs and build a schedule around your test date.

Targeted coaching

Private sessions on the task types that move your score, with recorded Speaking and timed Writing practice.

Test-day ready

Full timed practice, Home Edition or test center rehearsal, and a clear plan for the day.

Tell us your programs and test date. We will tell you what score you need and how to get there.

What changed on the TOEFL iBT in January 2026?
ETS launched an updated TOEFL iBT on January 21, 2026. The test is shorter, about 90 minutes instead of 116. Reading and Listening are now multistage adaptive, so question difficulty adjusts to your performance. Every section has new task types, and scores are reported on a new 1 to 6 scale.
How is the new TOEFL scored?
You receive a score from 1 to 6, in half-point steps, for Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing, plus an overall score that is the average of the four rounded to the nearest half band. For two years after the January 2026 launch, score reports also include a comparable 0 to 120 total so schools that still publish requirements on the old scale can read your result.
How long are TOEFL scores valid, and how fast do they arrive?
TOEFL iBT scores are valid for two years from the test date. ETS reports results within about 72 hours of the test.
What TOEFL score do I need?
It depends on the university and the program, and many schools are publishing requirements on both scales during the transition. We start every plan with your target programs, confirm their current published requirements, and set section-level targets from there.
Can I take the TOEFL at home?
Yes. The TOEFL iBT Home Edition is offered alongside test center appointments. We help you choose the format that suits you and practice under the same conditions, including the equipment and room requirements for the Home Edition.
How long should I prepare?
It depends on your starting level and your target. Every student begins with a diagnostic, and we build the schedule around your test date and application deadlines rather than a fixed package.
