In short: ConnectPrep provides 1:1 Digital SAT and ACT prep, K–12 subject tutoring, AP support, private school admissions, and full-service college counseling to Greenwich, CT families. Tutors travel to Greenwich homes — from Old Greenwich to backcountry — or work live online, and every engagement begins with a free 30-minute consultation with founder Jeremy Fine at (914) 288-5718. We work primarily with Greenwich High School, Brunswick School, and Greenwich Academy students, and most full-program students gain 100–500 SAT points with 97% admitted to one of their top three colleges.

Greenwich families have no shortage of tutoring options — most run a national curriculum that ignores what GHS, Brunswick, and Greenwich Academy students actually face: AP overlap in May, FCIAC fall sports, and a college bar where competitive applicants need 1500+. ConnectPrep is built around that reality. Every session is 1:1, customized to a diagnostic, and adjusted every two weeks; the same team that builds the test-prep plan also builds the college list and manages applications.

Score Context

What SAT Score Do Greenwich Students Actually Need?

Connecticut administers the SAT to every public-school junior on SAT School Day, so most Greenwich High School juniors have an official baseline by spring. Independent-school students typically test on national dates. Either way, the competitive question is the same: what score does your student need for the colleges on their list?

Score Range Context Typical Target Schools
1500+ 99th percentile Ivy League and peer-tier universities
1400–1490 Strong, top independent-school range Top-25 universities, strong merit candidates
1300–1390 Competitive Top-50 universities
1200–1290 Solid baseline Broad match range

General Connecticut score context; we calibrate each student’s target to their specific college list during the free consultation.

Most families we work with are closing a 100–500 point gap between a baseline score and the competitive threshold for their target schools — exactly the range ConnectPrep programs are built to close. See how our Greenwich SAT program works →

Your Greenwich Roadmap

College Prep, Grade by Grade

Greenwich families get the strongest results when they start early and stay consistent. Here’s how a typical ConnectPrep plan unfolds from middle school through senior year.

Stage Academic & Testing Focus How ConnectPrep Helps
Grades 6–8 Build core math and writing skills; ISEE/SSAT if applying to Brunswick, GA, or boarding school. Subject tutoring, study-skills coaching, and private-school admissions support.
Grade 9 Strong first-year GPA, course selection, early extracurricular direction. Academic advising, executive-function coaching, a long-range course and activities roadmap.
Grade 10 PSAT/PreACT, AP groundwork, a baseline Digital SAT diagnostic (ideal start: October). Diagnostic testing, an SAT-vs-ACT decision, and the first structured test-prep block.
Grade 11 Core SAT/ACT testing window, AP exams, college-list building — the most pivotal year. 1:1 test prep to target score, school-list strategy, and the start of essay brainstorming.
Grade 12 Applications, essays, interviews, final score attempts, financial-aid and decision strategy. Full-service application management through decision day, plus interview prep.

Most families start in 9th–11th grade, but we support students at every stage — including seniors mid-application. See our grade-by-grade advising →

How It Works

In-Home & Online Sessions in Greenwich

In-home sessions

Tutors travel throughout Greenwich on weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Sessions run 60–90 minutes.

Live online

The same tutor can move any session online during crew/sailing season, AP weeks, or school breaks. No separate online-only tier.

Diagnostic-driven

Every program starts with a full Bluebook diagnostic, then a weekly 1:1 plan re-paced every two weeks from practice-test data.

Practice testing

Full-length, Bluebook-aligned digital practice SATs throughout each program, with question-by-question review.

Most Greenwich public-school students test at Greenwich High School on Bluebook-supported Chromebooks; independent-school students test on national dates. We practice every student on the same device they’ll use on test day — so a missed week during FCIAC playoffs or AP season never derails the program.

ConnectPrep is led by founder Jeremy Fine, who personally runs every family’s first consultation. His path into education began teaching 3rd and 4th graders at Washington University in St. Louis — the start of a family legacy of educational passion that became ConnectPrep in 2013.

His philosophy is simple: teach, don’t just review. ConnectPrep pairs proven teaching methodology with advanced performance metrics and a relationship-centric approach — which is why so much of our Fairfield County business comes from referrals. Jeremy hand-selects every tutor and counselor; our educators average 12+ years of experience and include former admissions officers and subject specialists.

Common Questions

Greenwich Tutoring & Admissions FAQs

Do ConnectPrep tutors come to our home in Greenwich?
Yes. In-home tutoring is our standard format throughout Greenwich — from Old Greenwich to backcountry — and any session can move online when schedules get tight.
Do you work with both Greenwich High School and Brunswick / Greenwich Academy students?
Yes. About half our Greenwich families are from Greenwich High School and half from Brunswick, Greenwich Academy, and Sacred Heart, plus boarding-school students. Our tutors are equipped for both public and independent curricula.
Do you offer full college admissions counseling in Greenwich, or just test prep?
Both — and the combination is our core model. We bundle full-service admissions counseling (school list, essays, activities strategy, interviews) with test prep, so a student’s score target is calibrated to their actual college list from day one.
How do programs and pricing work?
Every program is customized to the student’s subject, goals, frequency, and timeline, so we recommend the right scope after a free 30-minute consultation rather than quoting a one-size number. Bundling test prep with admissions counseling typically costs less than hiring a separate tutor and an independent counselor.
When should my Greenwich student start SAT or ACT prep?
The strongest setup is October of sophomore year, building toward the March SAT of junior year. The most common entry point is the summer before junior year, targeting the August or October test.
Do you work with students who have ADHD, IEPs, or 504 plans?
Yes. We offer dedicated executive function and special education coaching, our tutors regularly work with extended-time and other College Board accommodations, and we can advise on the accommodations application process.
