In short: ConnectPrep is a Westport, CT–based tutoring and college admissions firm offering 1:1 Digital SAT and ACT prep, K–12 subject tutoring, AP support, private school admissions, and full-service college counseling. We’re headquartered at 10 Terra Nova Circle in Westport, work primarily with Staples High School and Greens Farms Academy families, and every engagement begins with a free 30-minute consultation with founder Jeremy Fine at (914) 288-5718. Most Westport students gain 100–500 SAT points, and 97% of full-program students are admitted to one of their top three colleges.

We’re not a national brand with a Westport ZIP code on the contact page. ConnectPrep was founded here, Jeremy Fine still runs every first consultation himself, and our tutors have planned sessions around Staples’ AP calendar, idled behind the same Post Road buses your kids ride, and watched seventeen years of Westport seniors open decision letters. When we say we know the town’s rhythm, we mean the actual calendar on your kitchen wall — Staples midterms, FCIAC crew and sailing seasons, and the spring SAT School Day every Connecticut junior sits.

Score Context

What SAT Score Do Westport Students Actually Need?

Connecticut administers the SAT to every public-school junior on SAT School Day, so virtually every Staples junior has an official baseline by spring. Because school-day means include every tester — not just the college-bound — published averages sit well below what competitive applicants actually submit.

Score RangeContextTypical Target Schools
1500+99th percentileIvy League and peer-tier universities
1400–1490Greens Farms Academy mean rangeTop-25 universities, strong merit candidates
1300–1390Top of the Staples middle-50%Top-50 universities
1110–1390Staples Class of 2025 middle 50%Broad match range
1239Staples Class of 2025 mean (all testers)Baseline before prep

Sources: Staples High School 2025–26 official school profile (Class of 2025 mean 1239, middle 50% 1110–1390); Greens Farms Academy reported average ≈1400.

That gap — between a school-day baseline and a competitive application score — is exactly the 100–500 point improvement range ConnectPrep programs are built to close. Westport’s academic market is among the most competitive in the country: median household income is roughly $250,001 and 38.4% of adults hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (Westport Public Schools 2025–26 profile), so local applicants compete against unusually strong peers for the same selective seats. How It Works

In-Person & Online Sessions in Westport

Westport is the one place where everything ConnectPrep does is available fully in person. Families typically structure it one of three ways:

In-home sessions

Tutors travel throughout Westport on weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Sessions run 60–90 minutes.

Westport office

Many families prefer our home base at 10 Terra Nova Circle — a focused, distraction-free setting.

Live online

The same tutor can move any session online during crew/sailing season, AP weeks, or school breaks. No separate online-only tier.

Practice testing

Full-length, Bluebook-aligned digital practice SATs throughout each program, with question-by-question review.

Most Westport students test at Staples High School (CEEB 070-920) on Bluebook-supported Chromebooks; some use Norwalk High or Wilton High for backup dates. Every program starts with a free 30-minute consultation with founder Jeremy Fine, then a full diagnostic, then a weekly 1:1 plan re-paced every two weeks from practice-test data — so a missed week during FCIAC playoffs or AP season never derails the program.

Meet the Founder

Founder-Led, Right Here in Westport

ConnectPrep is led by founder Jeremy Fine, who personally runs every family’s first consultation. His path into education began teaching 3rd and 4th graders at Washington University in St. Louis — the start of a family legacy of educational passion that became ConnectPrep in 2013.

His philosophy is simple: teach, don’t just review. ConnectPrep pairs proven teaching methodology with advanced performance metrics and a relationship-centric approach — which is why so much of our Westport business comes from referrals from families we’ve already worked with. Jeremy hand-selects every tutor and counselor on the team; our educators average 12+ years of experience and include former admissions officers and subject specialists.

Common Questions

Westport Tutoring & Admissions FAQs

Do ConnectPrep tutors come to our home in Westport?
Yes. In-home tutoring is our standard format throughout Westport. Families can also meet at our office at 10 Terra Nova Circle, and any session can move online when schedules get tight.
Do you offer full college admissions counseling in Westport, or just test prep?
Both — and the combination is our core model. We bundle full-service admissions counseling (school list, essays, activities strategy, interviews) with test prep, so a student’s score target is calibrated to their actual college list from day one rather than an arbitrary number.
How do programs and pricing work?
Every program is customized to the student’s subject, goals, frequency, and timeline, so we recommend the right scope after a free 30-minute consultation with founder Jeremy Fine rather than quoting a one-size number. Bundling test prep with admissions counseling typically costs less than hiring a separate tutor and an independent counselor.
When should my Westport student start SAT or ACT prep?
The strongest setup is October of sophomore year, building toward the March SAT of junior year. The most common entry point is the summer before junior year, targeting the August or October test. Connecticut’s spring SAT School Day gives every Staples junior a free official sitting — we plan programs so students peak before or at that date.
Where do Westport students take the SAT?
Most test at Staples High School (CEEB 070-920) on Bluebook-supported Chromebooks; some use Norwalk High or Wilton High for backup dates. We practice students on the same device they’ll test on.
What kind of score improvement do Westport students see?
Most full-program ConnectPrep Westport students gain 100–500 points depending on starting level, and 97% are admitted to one of their top three college choices, with destinations including Brown, Cornell, Penn, Williams, Bowdoin, Vanderbilt, Tufts, Boston College, Trinity, NYU, and the UConn honors program. We share verified outcomes data on request.
Do you work with students who have ADHD, IEPs, or 504 plans?
Yes. We offer dedicated executive function and special education coaching, our tutors regularly work with extended-time and other College Board accommodations, and we can advise on the accommodations application process itself.
Do you prepare students for private school admissions tests like the ISEE and SSAT?
Yes. We prep students for the ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, and TACHS and pair testing with day- and boarding-school admissions advising — a frequent need for Westport families applying to Greens Farms Academy and New England boarding schools.
What if our schedule changes week to week?
That’s normal here. Tutors hold a consistent weekly slot but flex between in-home and online formats, and we re-pace every two weeks based on practice-test data, so a missed week during crew season or AP exams doesn’t derail the program.
