Why Families Choose Us

What Makes Our AP Prep Different

Most students study hard for AP exams and still fall short. The reason, in most cases, is not effort — it’s strategy. ConnectPrep teaches the specific frameworks and question patterns that the College Board tests every year. As a result, our students walk into exam day with confidence and a clear plan.

Subject-Specialist Instructors
Each AP subject requires different expertise. Therefore, we match every student with an instructor who specializes specifically in that exam — not a generalist who knows a little about everything.
Personalized Study Plans
We start with a diagnostic to find exactly where your student is losing points. From there, we build a targeted plan around specific gaps — not a one-size-fits-all curriculum that wastes time on material already mastered.
Progress Tracking
From day one, we track every session through our analytics platform. As a result, parents and students always know exactly where scores stand and what is driving improvement.
Flexible Scheduling
We offer in-person tutoring at your home and fully live online sessions — 7 days a week, including evenings. In other words, we fit around your student’s schedule, not the other way around.
Up-to-Date Curriculum
The College Board updates AP exams regularly. Consequently, our study materials are refreshed each cycle to reflect current exam formats, question styles, and scoring rubrics — so nothing is missed.
Proven Results
Our students consistently score 4s and 5s. Moreover, strong AP scores strengthen college applications, can earn college credit, and demonstrate academic readiness to admissions committees at top universities.
Exclusive Student Materials

Customized AP Resource Guides — Built for Your Student

Every ConnectPrep AP student receives a customized resource guide built specifically for their exam, their school’s curriculum, and their individual weak areas. These are not generic study packets. Instead, they are targeted reference materials that our instructors assemble and refine throughout the program.

In fact, our students consistently tell us the resource guides are among the most valuable things they receive — “far beyond anything I have received from school,” as one recent student put it. Furthermore, guides are updated each cycle to reflect the latest College Board exam formats and scoring rubrics.

What Every Guide Includes

  • Subject-specific concept summaries — distilled from the full AP curriculum down to what actually appears on the exam
  • High-frequency question patterns — the exact question types and traps the College Board uses repeatedly, year after year
  • FRQ frameworks and scoring rubrics — clear templates for free-response questions so students know exactly what graders are looking for
  • Student-specific gap inserts — personalized pages targeting the specific topics where your student is losing points, added after the diagnostic
  • Exam-day strategy cheat sheet — a concise one-pager covering pacing, guessing strategy, and last-minute reminders for test day

Our Process

How We Prepare Students for AP Exams

We follow a clear, structured process for every AP student. Furthermore, the process adapts as your student progresses — so sessions stay relevant and targeted throughout the entire prep period.

1
Diagnostic Assessment
We begin with a diagnostic evaluation of your student’s current understanding of the AP subject. Specifically, we assess both content knowledge and exam technique to identify exactly where points are being lost.
2
Custom Study Plan
Based on the diagnostic results, we build a personalized study plan. This plan prioritizes the highest-impact topics first — so your student makes the most progress in the time available before exam day.
3
Concept Mastery Sessions
Each session focuses on deeply understanding specific concepts rather than surface-level review. As a result, students can apply knowledge to any question — not just the ones they have seen before.
4
Exam Strategy & Practice
We train students on AP-specific question formats, FRQ strategies, and time management. In addition, we use real College Board practice exams so students develop comfort and confidence with the actual exam structure.
5
Final Review & Exam Readiness
In the weeks before the exam, we shift to targeted review of weak areas and simulate exam conditions. Ultimately, students arrive on test day calm, prepared, and ready to score a 4 or 5.

Common Questions

AP Exam Prep Questions, Answered

Getting Started

When should my student start AP exam prep?
Ideally, students start prep 10–14 weeks before the May exam date. However, even a focused 6–8 week program can produce strong results. The key is starting before the material starts to feel overwhelming. Contact us and we will build a realistic timeline based on your student’s starting point.
How many AP exams can ConnectPrep help with at once?
As many as your student is taking. Furthermore, we can coordinate across multiple subjects and schedule sessions strategically so each exam gets proper attention. Many of our students work with two or three AP instructors simultaneously.
Do you offer in-person and online AP tutoring?
Yes — both options are available. In-person sessions take place at the student’s home in Fairfield County CT, Westchester NY, Nassau/Suffolk NY, and Manhattan. Online sessions are fully live and interactive, available nationwide. In either case, the quality of instruction is identical.

Scores & Results

What AP score improvement can we realistically expect?
Most students who commit to a structured ConnectPrep AP program improve by 1–2 score points on the 5-point scale. However, the actual improvement depends on the starting point, time invested, and how consistently the student practices between sessions. Our diagnostic helps us set a realistic target before you commit to anything.
Why do AP scores matter for college admissions?
Strong AP scores signal to admissions committees that a student can handle rigorous college-level coursework. Moreover, many colleges award college credit for scores of 4 or 5, potentially saving thousands of dollars in tuition. You can learn more about how colleges use AP scores on the official College Board credit policy page.

Our Program

Do you only focus on exam prep or also on the class itself?
Both. Many families come to us because a student is struggling with the coursework throughout the year — not just before the exam. We offer ongoing AP subject tutoring throughout the year as well as focused exam prep in the spring. In fact, year-round support typically produces the best exam results.
What subjects are your strongest for AP prep?
We have specialist instructors for all 38 AP subjects. Our most in-demand AP programs are AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP US History, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Statistics, and AP Spanish. That said, every subject is covered — from AP Physics C to AP Music Theory.
